Scammed by Meridium Technologies
I believe that I was scammed by Meridium Technologies. I was looking for tech support for MagicJack and I found a tollfree phone number for what I believed was MagicJack Tech Support. Turns out it was Meridium Technologies and they posed as Tech Support for MagicJack. I very foolishly let them take remote control of my computer and they did get me through the process of registering my MagicJack device. However I did not get what they said I was paying for. Later when I did get in touch with MagicJack they tell me they have no association with Meridium Technologies and cannot provide me with any details of the 77.61 US dollars that I was charged by Meridium Technologies. Also, when I was on the phone with Meridium Technologies they gave me an 800 number to call them if I needed anything further... I'm not surprised that I don't get an answer at that number.

BIG FAT LIARS (Technical Support Scam)
I got their number from the Magic Jack website for technical support. I purchased Magic Jack internet phone service last year and I noticed that my phone did not have a dail tone for 2 days so I called the number. I called the number and a guy with a heavy Indian accent stated someone will call me back. They called me back about 35 to 45 minutes later. I believe that they were looking up my information about my account. I told this guy my phone is not working and he told I have to renew my service. So he asked me to pull up my account and stated that I can renew with them and he proceeded to quote me prices from 1 yr plans up to 5 yr plans. All this time he is typing all of this information on my computer. Since I wanted my phone to work I went ahead and re we'd for five years. He asked me to type is I was satisfied with the service and I typed satisfied for know. Next I look at my phone and told the guy my phone is still not working and he stated "Oh your phone is not working ?" I told home that is why I called. He asked me to look at the magic jack to see if the lights were on and they were not. He asked me to remove it from the wall outlet and connect it to my lab top and the phone started to work. So he said The adapter was not working and I can use the USB adapter from my cell phone and we some how got disconnected. I did what he stated and my phone stated working. So I decieded to check my email and the invoice did not indicate anything out renewing my Magic Jack plan. I was billed for Magic Jack technical support for $180.74. I checked my account and it did not indicate anything about renewing. I call immediately and he claims it is not going to show until 3 days then said not until my service have to be renewed next year. I told him I want a refund and stated someone will called me back tomorrow and he hung up the phone. Never again. My bank will be investigating.

Online Computer fix scam
On May 29th, I fell victim to what I believe is an online computer scam. I was having problems with the wireless internet connection in my house. The wireless router is/was made by D-Link. I went online, and clicked on what I thought was their website. Not until after the whole call, process and procedure was done did I realize it was not d-link, but some other outfit. All of this was done over the internet. They proceeded to tell me that they needed to look into my computer, as there was probably a Trojan horse in our system that was affecting the bandwidth connections, other stuff, blah, blah, blah. They initially quoted a price of $120 to fix all devices (laptop, desktop and I-pad). I spent nearly 3 hours on the phone with these yahoos, and 5 minutes after we hung up, the problem was as bad as or worse than before I called them. I immediately called them back to complain, but to no avail. They insisted I agreed to the charge, and would be charged. After it was all said and done, they charged me $120 for each device. (Two separate charges, one for $120, and one for $240.) They claimed they had me on a recording authorizing the charge. I asked for a copy, but never received one. I called to dispute the charges within a few hours, but was told by someone at Citi Cards that I would have to wait for the charge to appear on my statement. What’s even more amazing, the next day I called the Geek Squad group at Best Buy. They sent a guy out in a couple of days. He determined that the only problem was with the modem supplied by Comcast, not our computers, not our routers. That’s when I realized I was taken for a ride. Within 30 minutes, the GS guy had all of our problems solved. I thought something was not quite right with these guys, but I was too focused on solving a computer issue.

Claimed I had a virus
Suddenly my router was no longer working and was not broadcasting wifi signal. Googled cisco linksys support and found this company. He remote accessed my computer and had claimed I had a virus on both computers in my home. Said it would be 180 to fix them, and had me write yes on some blank word processing form and went at it. Took about 2 hours of my life, and only recently heard about the scam. I'm attempting to dispute the charge with Visa but don't expect it to go anywhere. At this point I'm more worried if there ever was a virus, if he put it on there to charge me to take it off, or told me he took it off and left one on both computers. . . Any experiences out there where you ended up with a virus that wasn't there prior to the call?

Meridium Technologies Scam
I searched Linksys on my cell phone and thought I was getting their number for support. After being on the phone with "Steve Jackson" I realized this was not Linksys. I had called due to an issue with setting up my router. He said my computer had been hacked and he could fix that and get me all set up. Long story short, it was a bunch of BS and a scam. All I really needed was to connect another cable into my router. Expensive lesson. He kept insisting he could fix my issue but he was more interested in using scare tactics, "You've been hacked" and charging me for that Got my business once, won't ever get it again!!

Got my Wireless Back
I called this company and they took me to remote123.org website,i asked the tech what he is doing he told me that he gonna fix my link system, then suddenly he went into my computer and ran some scans and found that my wireless is unsecured and there were 5 strange Ip addresses using my link systems, and he was correct because my internet was so slow and then i told him to scan my computer as well for viruses then the tech found there was *** number of viruses. And then i told him to fix the problem they asked me 120$ to fix the entire issuses and i agreed, they fixed the issues with my link systems,my computer and also helped me to connect my Cannon printer which i was never able to connect. Then he shown me proper receipts of payment in my E-mail and took a feedback for the services,i believe the tech(Perhaps his name was Anthony) did a tremendous job,and its worth for money. I don't know much about the company but the tech was Fabulous and fixed each and every issue so i am gonna recommend the services to all my friends and family members, cheers Anthony@***m.

Same thing happened to me, only I reached them directly from a NetGear Tech Support call. They reset the pw to my router and refused to give me the pw.
Once suspicions were raised we called NetGear again and were told this was not affiliated. Out 90 dollars, but almost out a lot more, as I happened to be on-line at 3am when all of my passwords started changing. Changed back quickly and averted loss. Got rid of the router.
Still getting calls from these SOBs, asking us to give them control of our machines so they can "fix" our network, but hang-up. Big scam!

I paid $150 for help with link system and maintenance Then received a call back stating maintenance won't is available and ask me for mt card # to refund $150 back. I requested to send me an email and never received one!!!!! all a scam :(
Is there any negative affects to my privacy after they take controlled to my computer? I'm afraid that they can stole personal information from my computer.
Yes they try to Back up my computer files, them they charge me $180.00 to fix a Magic Jack that is was not working and is not working. This is a real SCAM COMPANY BASE EN CANADA.
They got me the same way, except when it came to paying I got suspicious. They had access to my computer which scares me.
Told me other people were accessing my system, blah, blah, blah.
The whole time I thought I was talking to thee DLink people. I certainly felt like I wasted my time on these scam artists.
It happened to me on 08/07/2013 that i had been facing issue for connecting my brothers printer, where ever i called in for help they told me that i had unknown virus issues which did not make any sense to me .
I ended up dialing meridium technologies where i finally ended up getting my issue fixed within no time .
The technician (Steve) was very professional and clearly explained me about the charges. i never had any issues with paying but i just wanted a legit company to do the job for me . For me they did an amazing job and fixed my issue to my satisfaction . the tech was so good that he also helped me to setup my outlook for which he spent additional time just on my request without any extra charge .
I paid 160 usd after i was satisfied , there was no charge until my issue was fixed .
keep the ball rolling , cheers .

It happened to me too, but luckily I figured out they were trying to scam me before I wasted the same amount of "$240."
The representative got extremely defensive and hostile on the phone with me for not agreeing to pay. Both the representative and I were on the phone w/each other for almost 2 hrs trying to connect my internet. He had access to my computer through a website called remote123.org so it was like a ghost accessing my computer.
He said that my IP address & Firewall and everything was crashed. He agreed to fix some problems "complementary/free of charge" but then later charge $180 for security. I told him ok. So we stayed online for that 2 hrs and then my internet worked. He fixed the connection problem and i was connected to the internet again. But then he accessed some files on my computer and pointed out that I had a lot of virus. ( the part where he was going to charge me for security)
I told him that i was going to take the computer to best buy instead, because we had a warranty on the computer to fix virus and all that, but he insisted that I had to pay with him or he would be FIRED!
He said if you don't pay, "I'll be fired." From that moment on, I was sure I was being scammed. After that it was just a bunch of ***, he got aggressive and I felt like i was dealing with a damm *** terrorist!
I mean I could be wrong, but weighing out the odds to me just proves this is fishy. it felt wrong.
If someone can explain to me with is up with this then please e-mail me and lmk. sun1989star@***.com title the subject INTERNET SCAM (BELKIN)
